Application thickness should be controlled to prevent running. The glaze features iron silicate crystal development dependent on the kiln cooling rate. Calcium carbonate content serves as the primary mechanism for melt adjustment; increasing calcium carbonate facilitates iron solubility, promoting a deep, saturated gloss, while lower levels favor iron precipitation during cooling.
