Glaze Designation: MGBase5. Description: A high-calcium, boron-balanced clear glaze engineered for functional interior surfaces. Technical Properties: The formulation produces a dense, crystal-clear, glass-like finish with low-to-medium thermal expansion, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of clay bodies. Performance: Exhibits high chemical stability and excellent corrosion resistance, preventing staining from acidic liquids or mechanical marking. Application notes: Formulated to maintain clarity even with heavy application; the melt is stiff, minimizing running and crawling. Limitations: The stiff melt characteristic requires a clean surface, as it may fail to heal pinholes or craters. Due to its high transparency, the glaze will highlight rather than mask surface imperfections or blemishes on the underlying clay body.
