Glaze G2926J is a low thermal expansion variant of the G2926B base, formulated to address crazing issues. Its calculated thermal expansion coefficient is 5.6, significantly lower than the standard 6.4 value. Due to this reduction, shivering may occur on some clay bodies; if necessary, line blend G2926J with G2926B to optimize fit. The formulation utilizes Li2O sourced from spodumene and SrO from Frit 524 to manage flux behavior. Technical considerations: Spodumene may introduce air bubbles into the slurry; washing the material prior to mixing is recommended to mitigate this. Color response may deviate from the original G2926B. Before adopting this formulation, ensure optimal silica incorporation in the standard G2926B by using 325-mesh silica or ball milling the slurry, or consider G2926S as an intermediate alternative.
