Usage Instructions
Glaze Formulation: MGBase1 (HCSM 1). Characteristics: A semi-matte, buttery finish achieved through the development of calcium-silicate crystals. Firing Requirements: Requires a controlled cooling cycle between 1900°F and 1500°F to ensure proper crystalline formation; rapid cooling will result in an undesirable glossy surface. Application: Maintain consistent thickness. Excessive application leads to cracking or crawling, while insufficient thickness results in a dry, stony texture. Performance: Exhibits a stiff melt with minimal flow, allowing for clean edge transitions. The surface is durable and stain-resistant. Limitations: Susceptible to cutlery marking due to the crystalline surface structure. Coloration is highly sensitive to variations in raw materials, specifically iron oxide and rutile purity, which can significantly shift the final color profile.
