VESUCG is a titanium-free crystalline glaze formulated with whiting and magnesium carbonate. It is rated for use at Cone 7–9, with optimal results achieved at Cone 8–9. The glaze exhibits high crystal density with a radial growth rate of approximately 0.5 cm per hour. Crystals appear opaque white with a mountainous morphology on vertical forms, set within a colorless, transparent ground. The glaze demonstrates good thermal stability with minimal crazing. It is highly compatible with various colorants; copper produces aquamarine or mint green tones, and nickel response is excellent. Seeding performance is superior with zincite, while hemimorphite inclusions promote the development of acicular crystal structures.
