Glaze GR10-B is a cone 10 reduction formulation consisting of 90% Ravenscrag Slip and 10% dolomite. The inclusion of dolomite provides MgO to improve thermal expansion compatibility and reduce crazing tendencies. The glaze exhibits a glossy surface finish, surpassing the matte texture of pure Ravenscrag Slip. Micro-bubbles inherent in the matrix enhance visual depth on dark stonewares. On porcelain bodies, the inherent iron content of the Ravenscrag Slip may impart a slight greenish hue. This formulation is compatible with a variety of porcelain, buff, and dark stoneware clay bodies.
