Usage Instructions

Glaze GA6-H is a glossy black formulation based on Alberta Slip. Base formulation requires 80% Alberta Slip, 20% Boron Frit (Frit 3134 or 3195), and 3% black stain. To achieve higher gloss, increase the frit ratio. To increase color saturation, increase the stain percentage. If crazing occurs, substitute Frit 3134 with Frit 3195. Material processing requires ball milling for optimal consistency. To mitigate high shrinkage and potential crawling/cracking associated with raw Alberta Slip, the material must be roasted at 1000°F (538°C) for 30 minutes prior to use. While roasting induces a 3% weight loss, the material may be substituted gram-for-gram in the recipe.
