Notes & Instructions

Glaze G2000 is a zinc-fluxed matte formulated for Cone 6 firing. Its surface characteristics are highly sensitive to thermal history, cooling rates, and specific feldspar chemistry. When optimal, the glaze produces a durable, silky matte finish; however, slow cooling or specific firing conditions may promote the growth of micro-crystals, resulting in a matte surface that is susceptible to cutlery marking and surface staining. Due to its high feldspar content, the glaze exhibits a high coefficient of thermal expansion, which may lead to crazing when applied to porcelain bodies. Users should conduct localized testing to evaluate fit on specific clay bodies and optimize cooling cycles to maintain the desired matte texture.
