H2O (Water)

ID: h2o

H2O

Notas

In the context of ceramic glaze chemistry, water (H2O) exists primarily as a component within raw materials, either as adsorbed surface moisture or as chemically combined structural water within hydrated minerals. Because this oxide is expelled during the thermal processing of a kiln, it exerts no influence on the final composition, viscosity, surface texture, or coloristic properties of a matured glaze. Consequently, when formulating glaze recipes or calculating batch chemistry, structural water is treated as a volatile component and assigned a value of zero, as it does not contribute to the fired glass matrix.
