Silver oxide, represented by the chemical formula Ag2O, exists as a dark brown or black particulate material primarily utilized as a precursor for the synthesis of additional silver-based compounds. While not a standard component in conventional ceramic formulations, it is occasionally employed in specialized applications. In glaze chemistry, it has been explored for its potential to modify opacity and act as a fluxing agent.
