Usage Instructions
GR6-H is a Cone 6 oxidation, Ravenscrag Slip-based oatmeal glaze. It produces a silky matte texture but is prone to leaching due to high levels of calcined alumina and colorants; prioritize GA6-F Alberta Slip for better melt properties and stability. If using GR6-H, apply as a thin secondary layer over a more fluid base glaze to achieve decorative oil-spot effects. Application should be controlled, preferably via spray to maintain uniform thickness. For speckle, add 0.25% granular manganese, ensuring the slurry remains thixotropic to counteract particle settling. Maintain a balanced ratio of raw to roasted slip to minimize drying shrinkage and cracking. Utilize the C6PLST firing schedule for consistent results on bodies such as M340, M370, and P300.
