In ceramic and glass chemistry, arsenic trioxide (As2O3) functions primarily as a fining agent. Its oxidation properties allow it to facilitate the clarification of molten glass by effectively removing gaseous inclusions. Furthermore, it acts as a decolorizing agent, capable of mitigating the yellow tones introduced by iron impurities and neutralizing the characteristic coloration of manganese. Arsenic trioxide can also contribute to the stabilization of specific hues, such as light greens, within a glass matrix.
